Peggy has been a licensed Texas Realtor for 5 years in the Houston area in parallel with her career at NASA. Recently retired, she now continues this work full time in the Dallas-Fort area in her post-government life.
Peggy is a 39-year NASA employee who worked in many roles within the Agency during her career. As a twenty-year-old in Cleveland, Ohio she applied for a direct-hire to government service – an extremely competitive program – and after placing in the top three of region-wide applicants, she was offered a job at NASA. Her initial role was in human resources, however, within two years she was offered a position as one of only three female aerospace mechanics at the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Serving in this capacity for 17 years, she was then selected for a women’s executive leadership program, ultimately leading to her transfer to the NASA-Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The second half of her career was spent in Texas where she served in international partner contracts, finance, public affairs, aircraft operations, and airfield facility program manager. Along the way, she was a very active mother for her two now-grown boys, from room mom to PTA board member, team mom, and league coordinator of any sport they played. Peggy now has five children who have each chosen varied walks of life making her a very proud mom.
Peggy is actively involved in supporting the Medal of Honor Museum of which her husband, Chris Cassidy, former Navy Seal/NASA astronaut, is the CEO. She is also a member of the advisory board for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation Advisory Board.
